WEST WARWICK, RI — May 23rd — Aaron Stanley, a WWHS senior and department intern, was acknowledged by the West Warwick Fire Department after he was awarded the West Warwick Firefighters Local 1104 scholarship to enroll in the Community College of Rhode Island's Fire Science program. Stanley just achieved another significant milestone in his expanding emergency services career by passing the National Registry EMT exam. Future jobs in fire and emergency medical services can benefit greatly from fire science education and EMT certification.

Youth internship programs are still crucial in exposing students to occupations in public safety and assisting departments in producing future responders. As Stanley continues his study and training in emergency services, department officials commended him on his achievements and wished him continued success.
