Lt. Adam Andrews Named Firefighter of the Year

WEST GREENWICH, RI — May 8th — Lt. Adam Andrews was honored by Department West Greenwich Vol Fire Co. No. 1 after Exeter Grange #12 named him Firefighter of the Year. The award recognizes people who exhibit professionalism, devotion, and a desire to serve their community. Andrews' efforts to West Greenwich's fire and rescue services were acknowledged. For his assistance to the community, West Greenwich Police Officer Jason Larivee was also named Law Enforcement Officer of the Year.


First responders have traditionally received support from community organizations through yearly commemoration ceremonies that honor exceptional public service. In addition to congratulating the two winners, department representatives pointed out that the awards demonstrate the solid collaboration between law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical services in maintaining community safety.
