Atwood Hose Hosts Tanker Shuttle Training Exercise

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

Atwood Hose Fire Company personnel participated in a rural water supply operations practice on May 27th with mutual assistance partners from the Moosup Fire Department, Central Village Fire Company Station 97, and Plainfield Fire Company No. 1.

According to officials, HT196 filled responding tankers with water drawn from a pond. The tankers then moved the water to portable dump tanks where an engine powered an aerial device. In addition to allowing personnel to rehearse coordinated tanker shuttle and water supply protocols, the exercise replicated firefighting operations in areas without hydrants.
