Ashford Volunteer Fire Department members trained on a recently donated electric Stihl chainsaw at New Life Church on May 27.
According to officials, firefighters took advantage of the training opportunity to hone skills needed in building fire emergencies, practice cutting roof ventilation openings, and carry out interior overhaul operations. Crews were able to familiarize themselves with the new equipment and continue to develop operational preparedness through the practical exercise.
Members of the department expressed gratitude to New Life Church for supporting the agency's continuous training initiatives and community cooperation, as well as for providing the training venue.
