BETHLEHEM, CT. — May 22nd — Following the completion of a rehabilitation project, the Bethlehem Volunteer Fire Department announced that Engine 4 has been put back into service, restoring the department's fleet of equipment to full operational status. The project was financed by Capital Improvement Funds and ARPA cash, according to department officials at 26 Main Street South in Bethlehem. Upgrades to a second Class A pumper were also part of the rehabilitation work, which helped both pieces of equipment last longer.
In order to increase dependability, preserve emergency response preparedness, and save replacement costs, fire departments throughout Connecticut frequently engage in apparatus restoration initiatives. Reliable frontline equipment is still crucial for emergency operations and firefighter safety, according to officials. The department expressed gratitude to the local taxpayers and the Town of Bethlehem for their support of the initiative.
