BANTAM, CT. — May 14th — The Kent Volunteer Fire Department organized an ISO tanker transfer practice in which Tanker 33 from the Bantam Fire Company took part. Rural water delivery operations in places without municipal hydrant systems were the main focus of the training. In order to ensure a steady supply of fireground water during major events, firefighters trained coordinated tanker movements, fill site operations, dump tank construction, and water distribution techniques.

According to representatives of the Bantam Fire Company, which is situated at 92 Doyle Road in Bantam, tanker shuttle exercises enhance mutual aid agencies' efficiency and coordination. Shuttle training is a crucial component of operational readiness since the Insurance Services Office takes rural water supply capacities into account when evaluating departments. Tanker shuttle drills are routinely carried out by Connecticut fire departments to enhance disaster preparedness and firefighter safety.
