FOSTER, R.I. — May 10th — In a memorial honoring his devotion and dedication to the local fire service community, the Foster Center Volunteer Fire Company paid tribute to firefighter Ken Vento, also known as "306" inside the department. Members of the department came together to honor Vento's contributions to volunteer firefighting and the enduring customs that the emergency services network in Rhode Island shares. Fire officials pointed out that honoring current and former members is still crucial to preserving department history and upholding the fire service family.

Dedicated firefighters continue to be essential to volunteer departments throughout the region, offering training, emergency response, and mutual aid assistance to other communities. The honor, according to Foster Center staff, demonstrated the respect and gratitude for individuals who devoted time and effort to community protection.
