HARRISVILLE, R.I. — May 22 — The Harrisville Fire Department honored first responders for their ongoing dedication to providing emergency medical treatment in the closing days of the 52nd annual National EMS Week. EMTs, paramedics, firemen, and dispatchers frequently offer prehospital care during medical emergencies, auto accidents, and mutual aid situations across the region, according to department officials. All year long, EMS providers assist community readiness initiatives and public education campaigns.
Every May, the United States observes National EMS Week to honor the professionalism and commitment of emergency medical personnel. Rhode Island's fire and emergency medical services participated in the celebration by expressing gratitude to those who continue to serve their communities around-the-clock while upholding the highest standards of patient care and emergency response preparedness.
