NORTH SCITUATE, R.I. — May 4 — The North Scituate Fire Department observed International Firefighters' Day alongside fire departments in Rhode Island and around the globe. Every year, volunteers and professional firefighters are recognized for their ongoing community contribution. In order to help departments respond to fires, rescues, medical emergencies, and other public safety issues throughout the year, fire authorities emphasized the value of cooperation, training, and mutual aid agreements.
Additionally, the day was a chance to honor the assistance that firemen offer to the emergency services community as well as on emergency situations. Every year on May 4, fire departments around the world celebrate International Firefighters' Day as a way to honor responders for their devotion to public safety.
