Chicopee Fire Department Honors Retiring Lt. Ed Gelinas

Lieutenant Ed Gelinas finished his last shift and retired from the Chicopee Fire Department on May 1.
According to officials, Gelinas first served the nation through a remarkable military career before taking on a variety of duties in the fire department, including dispatcher, EMT, and fireman. He moved into the department's Fire Prevention Division in 2017 and eventually rose to the position of lead fire investigator with a focus on fire cause and origin investigations.
Gelinas' commitment, professionalism, and long-lasting accomplishments to public safety in the City of Chicopee were commended by department officials. In addition, they wished him a happy and healthy retirement and praised him for his years of service.
