PROCTORSVILLE, Vt. — 3rd May — At a Rope Rescue Operations training at Cavendish Gorge, members of the Proctorsville Volunteer Fire Department, situated at 513 Main Street in Proctorsville, joined local emergency personnel. Capital Technical Rescue of Albany, New York, conducted the multi-day training, which covered rope systems, patient packaging, lowering procedures, and rescue situations in steep terrain. Responders rehearsed techniques intended for situations involving ravines, cliffs, and hard-to-reach places.

The training came after several of the same staff members had finished their swift water rescue training in recent weeks. Cavendish Gorge offered practical circumstances for technical operations and high-angle rescue exercises. According to department representatives, the course enhanced responder safety, operational preparedness, and coordination during challenging rescue situations across the region.
