Water Rescue training on Lake Santa Fe

On Thursday May 20th, 2021 the Melrose Fire Department Water Rescue Team conducted a boat familiarization training with firefighters and paramedics from Bradford County Fire Rescue on Lake Santa Fe. Some of the topics covered were crew member roles, basic navigation & rules of the waterways. Demonstrations were performed on how to use a hand-held smoke flare, deploying the Life Sling Overboard Rescue Device, and patient extraction using the Avon SR 4.2 RHIB operated by the Melrose Fire Department. Additionally, boat maneuverability and operational capabilities were demonstrated.
