MENDHAM, NJ — May 4th — Mendham Fire Department personnel held a training session on the department's new Squad 7 equipment in observance of International Firefighters' Day. During the practical exercise, junior firefighters trained deploying and advancing handlines from both Quint 3 and Squad 7. As they worked around the machinery and equipment, crews addressed hose operations, communication, and collaboration. Younger members were also given experience with fireground duties and equipment setup through the drill.

Every year on May 4th, people around the world celebrate International Firefighters' Day to honor firefighters and emergency responders. According to department representatives, routine training is still crucial for preserving preparedness and getting junior firemen ready for emergency situations in the future.
