FLANDERS, NJ — May 16th — Residents of Mount Olive and members of the local business community will continue to receive free First Aid and CPR courses from the Flanders Fire Co. #1 and Rescue Squad. According to department officials, the courses are intended to assist community people in identifying medical situations and provide assistance prior to the arrival of emergency medical services.
CPR techniques, the fundamentals of first aid, and instruction on using automated external defibrillators, or AEDs, are all included in the curriculum. The department, which has its headquarters at 27 Main St. in Flanders, often organizes safety education and public outreach events all year round. Bystanders' prompt action can enhance response times, therefore EMS officials continue to promote CPR training.
