A Platoon Takes Part in Adopt-A-School Program

WILDWOOD, NJ — April 29th — As part of the department's Adopt-A-School initiative, members of the City of Wildwood Fire Department's A Platoon paid a visit to the Pre-K E class at Wildwood Middle & High School. Firemen discussed fundamental fire safety, emergency response, and the role of firemen in the community with kids throughout the visit. Additionally, crews engaged in classroom activities aimed at fostering students' comfort with emergency professionals and introduced kids to firefighting apparatus.


Adopt-A-School is one program that helps departments teach safety principles at a young age while fostering positive ties with local youngsters. The visit was a component of the department's ongoing community outreach initiatives in the City of Wildwood during the academic year.
