This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

Members of the Southwest Harbor Fire Department and the Southwest Harbor-Tremont Ambulance Service collaborated on EMS operations and pre-planning exercises on April 16.

Almost eighteen people took part in the practical training, which included a visit of Pemetic Elementary School lead by Ambulance Service crew chief and teacher Bonnie Norwood and ambulance operations instruction delivered by paramedic Andrew Braley.

Officials said the training was divided into rotating groups and aimed to strengthen EMS readiness while improving familiarity with local buildings and response locations. The department noted the exercises help prepare responders for a wide range of emergency incidents.
