Hancock Fire Department Reports Busy April Activity

The Hancock Volunteer Fire Department's April activity report, which detailed 45 calls for service during the month and 170 calls thus far in 2026, was made public on May 3.


Two fire alarms, a propane alert, a personal injury collision, a property damage event, a mutual assistance trail rescue, two mutual aid structure fire responses, and 37 medical calls were among the occurrences that occurred in April.


According to officials, a number of firefighters obtained CPR certification, and members also finished monthly training centered on the fundamentals of wildland fires. Additionally, Captain Eugley became certified as a Fire Officer 1.


Members of the department filled the first water tank at a new trailer park development in collaboration with mutual assistance departments and helped with a food drive.
