Concurrent House Resolution H.C.R. 278, which honors the department's 150 years of community service, was given to members of the City of Vergennes Fire Department on May 7 at the Vermont State House.

During the ceremony, officials thanked Matt Birong for endorsing the resolution and acknowledging the department. The department also thanked locals and former and current members for their unwavering support over the organization's existence.

The agency revealed plans to commemorate the 150th anniversary on July 25. More information about the event is anticipated to be made public later.
