Cayuga, NY - Cayuga Fire Department participated in a joint tanker shuttle drill hosted by Montezuma Fire Department at Hejamada Campground, focusing on rural water supply operations and interagency coordination.

Cayuga Engine 1 established a drafting operation from a pond using a floating strainer and hard suction hose, supplying a 5-inch LDH line feeding a three-port 2.5-inch manifold.

From this setup, Cayuga Tanker/Pumper 1, along with Montezuma Tankers 1 and 2, were efficiently filled for shuttle operations.

The tanker units then operated a continuous water shuttle route around the campground loop, supplying Montezuma’s portable relay apparatus, which was positioned at a porta-pond dump site.

A total of 10 Cayuga Fire Department members participated in the drill, strengthening drafting, shuttle, and dump-site coordination skills in a rural water supply scenario.
