WEST BATH, ME — May 10th — After decades of devotion to the agency and the local fire service community, the department, West Bath Fire/Rescue, announced the death of longstanding member and officer Mike Drake. Drake held a number of leadership positions and gained recognition for his dedication to firefighter education and training, according to department officials.

He participated in training programs at FDIC International, taught members from departments throughout the region, and mentored firefighters in West Bath. In addition to offering their sympathies, firefighters and mutual aid organizations across Maine acknowledged Drake's enduring influence on firefighter safety, training, and operational preparedness.
