Ipswich Fire Department Receives SAFE Grant Funding

IPSWICH, MA — On April 28th —The Ipswich Fire Department announced that it has been awarded $9,326 in state grant funding to promote senior and student SAFE (Student Awareness of Fire Education) programs. In order to lower fire-related injuries, the funding will support safety education, community engagement, and fire prevention classes. Cooking safety, home escape planning, smoke alarm awareness, and fire safety procedures for senior citizens are among the topics that will be covered.


Every year, Massachusetts SAFE funding are given to fire departments to support education initiatives for populations deemed to be more vulnerable during house fires. Prevention and public education are still crucial components of enhancing community safety and lowering emergency situations, according to department officials.
