Next Generation in Action: Junior Firefighters Tackle Search and Rescue Training

Franklinville, NY - Members of the Franklinville Volunteer Fire Department took part in a District 2 training session alongside neighboring agencies, focusing on strengthening skills and collaboration.


A highlight of the training saw the department’s junior members actively participating in an interior search and rescue exercise, gaining valuable hands-on experience in navigating simulated fireground conditions.


The evolution emphasized teamwork, situational awareness, and proper search techniques in low-visibility environments.


The joint training provided an opportunity for departments to share knowledge and learn new approaches, reinforcing the value of regional cooperation and continuous skill development across all levels of the fire service.
