NEWPORT, N.Y. — On April 11th — Following the death of Firefighter/Paramedic Ashley Faubert, members of Department Newport Fire Co. #4 sent their condolences to the Ilion Fire Department. In addition to expressing sympathy for Faubert's family, friends, and fellow firefighters, department leaders acknowledged her service and commitment to the emergency services community. Firefighter-paramedics play vital roles in both emergency medical response and fire suppression, frequently putting in long hours under difficult circumstances.

As firefighters recognized Faubert's dedication to public safety, messages of support from other departments and emergency services continued to be distributed around the area. In order to help other responders and their communities during times of grief, departments throughout New York frequently band together.
