POINT PLEASANT BEACH, N.J. — On April 15th — During a monthly department drill at the Monmouth County Fire Academy, members of Department Point Pleasant Beach Fire Company #2 received training from Ocean Fire Company No. 2. Using the academy's live fire roof prop, crews performed vertical ventilation, which enables firemen to undertake roof operations under controlled fire conditions. During active fire incidents, members are trained to cut ventilation openings to discharge smoke and heat from buildings.

Additionally, the exercise strengthened communication, coordinated truck company operations, and roof safety. According to department representatives, the training enhances collaboration and keeps firefighters prepared for emergencies.
