WEST CARTHAGE, N.Y. — April 22nd — Plans for a planned safety crisis drill involving many emergency service agencies at Carthage High School were publicized by members of the West Carthage Fire Department. Throughout the simulation, crews practiced emergency coordination and incident response techniques while fire equipment, EMS units, law enforcement, and other responders were expected to operate on the scene.
These kinds of exercises, according to officials, improve preparedness and communication in the event of major catastrophes and school-related situations. Drivers were urged to use caution and give emergency personnel room so they could complete training activities safely. Additionally, department representatives urged community members, employees, and students to look for support services if the activity caused sensitive or emotional reactions.
