Town of Watertown Fire Department Mourns Dick Tanner

WATERTOWN, N.Y. — May 5th — Following the death of veteran member, former chief, and former fire commissioner Dick Tanner, members of the Town of Watertown Fire Department offered their condolences. Tanner's years of leadership, commitment, and ongoing devotion to the department and the Board of Fire Commissioners were acknowledged by department officials. In order to support operations, training, and community preparation initiatives, volunteer fire organizations around New York frequently rely on seasoned officers and devoted members.


Firefighters observed that Tanner supported public safety operations in the Watertown community and stayed devoted to the department for many years. As the local fire service community honored Tanner's leadership and services, department members also offered support to his family, friends, and fellow firefighters.
