Watertown Firefighters Honor Department Chaplain

WATERTOWN, N.Y. — April 30th — Canon Sam Lundy was a longtime chaplain for the City of Watertown Fire Department and the local emergency services community. His passing is being mourned by the department's members. Father Sam was well-known for his frequent visits to fire stations, attendance at departmental functions, and community support for firefighters and their families. During ceremonies and recognition events, he frequently gave crucifixes and St. Florian medals to recently promoted officers and newly graduated firefighters.
Chaplains continue to offer crucial emotional and spiritual support to firefighters during emergencies and challenging situations, according to department officials. Father Sam's devotion, empathy, and long-standing support of the Watertown fire department community were acknowledged by firefighters around the area.
