CLAYTON, N.Y. — May 1st — Following Captain Freeman's passing, members of the Town of Clayton Fire Department sent their sympathies to the Theresa Fire Department. Captain Freeman's service and commitment to the Theresa community and surrounding emergency services network were acknowledged by fire stations across northern New York. During emergency responses, training sessions, and public safety activities, volunteer departments around Jefferson County are still connected through mutual aid alliances and regional collaboration.

According to department officials, the fire service's losses are felt by other agencies that frequently collaborate to support their communities. During this trying time, the Town of Clayton Fire Department also offered assistance to Captain Freeman's family, other firemen, and members of the Theresa Fire Department.
