HARRISON CITY, Pa. — April 22nd — Twelve firemen from the Harrison City Volunteer Fire Department finished a refresher course in Engine Company Operations. Forward-lay hydrant operations, primary attack line deployment, switching from tank water to a pressured hydrant supply, and setting up backup lines were all practiced by the crews. To increase productivity and collaboration during fireground operations, each training evolution was timed following NFPA 1410 criteria.

Regular training, according to department officials, keeps firemen prepared for structural fires and other community emergencies. These kinds of evening drills help crews improve hose operations, water supply management, and communication while preparing members for actual emergency situations. Additionally, the agency urged community people who wanted to volunteer to find out about membership options.
