GREENSBURG, Pa. — May 6th — Along with many nearby emergency response organizations, members of Dryridge VFD took part in the annual disaster drill at Arnold Palmer Regional Airport. As part of the multi-agency practice involving fire departments, EMS agencies, law enforcement, and airport workers, Tanker 91 responded. During a simulated airport incident, the training concentrated on emergency coordination, communication, and operational preparedness.
In order to assess response protocols and readiness plans, airports are required by Federal Aviation Administration regulations to hold comprehensive emergency drills every three years. During large-scale catastrophes involving aviation emergencies or mass casualty situations, exercises such as this enable emergency teams to enhance communication and boost mutual assistance coordination. After completing operations and equipment checks, units passed the training.
