Rescue 91 Responds for Ambulance Assist in Greensburg

GREENSBURG, Pa. — April 16th — Members of the Dryridge VFD responded with Squad 91 and Rescue 91 to help with an ambulance. During the event, firefighters helped EMS staff with patient access and on-scene assistance. As emergency medical personnel assessed the patient, responding teams reported that the patient was stable and awake. The patient was subsequently transferred by mutual help EMS for further medical assessment.


For many fire departments in Westmoreland County, ambulance assistance calls remain a regular aspect of their operations. During medical situations, firefighters frequently aid EMS agencies with patient mobility, lifting support, and scene safety. After helping EMS personnel and finishing operations, units cleared the area.
