Ligonier Township Firefighters Acknowledge Dispatch Support

LIGONIER TWP., Pa. — April 14th — During National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, dispatchers from the Westmoreland County Department of Public Safety and Mutual Aid EMS were honored by members of the Darlington Volunteer Fire Company, Station 42. The emergency telecommunication officers who assist in coordinating responses for fire, EMS, and law enforcement agencies around the county were recognized by department officials for their ongoing professionalism and support.


Dispatchers are in charge of collecting information from callers, allocating emergency resources, and keeping in touch with field teams. Every year, National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week is held to honor the vital role dispatchers play in assisting public safety organizations and emergency services operations nationwide.
