EVANS MILLS, N.Y. — April 14th — During National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, the Department Pamelia Vol. Fire Dept. 34 honored the dispatchers who assist emergency operations across the community. Every April, the week serves as a reminder of the critical role dispatchers play in managing emergency calls, obtaining information, allocating resources, and keeping in touch with field responders.

During emergencies, telecommunicators are frequently the initial point of contact and continue to assist teams during fire, emergency medical services, and law enforcement incidents. Dispatchers assist in maintaining responder safety while handling numerous calls and vital radio traffic, according to department officials. Members expressed gratitude to local telecom providers for their commitment, professionalism, and ongoing support of the public and emergency services community.
