On April 30th, members of the Carbon Volunteer Fire Department participated in training centered on how to use newly acquired rescue airbags that were funded by an annual grant. During a number of practical rescue situations, firefighters studied equipment setup, stabilization techniques, and safe lifting protocols. A patient stuck under a big object, an impingement incident, and a victim-involved simulated tree or utility pole collapse were among the training evolutions. According to department officials, the training enhanced teamwork, strengthened technical rescue abilities, and prepared participants for community-wide situations including heavy lifting, stabilization, and victim extrication.
