Barnegat, NJ — May 4th — International firemen Day is being held at Barnegat Volunteer Fire Company Station 11, 11 Birdsall St (Main Station), Barnegat, NJ, United States, 08005, to honor firemen who serve both locally and internationally. Held on May 4th, International firemen Day was created in 1999 in response to a demand for global recognition following the deaths of firemen in an Australian wildfire disaster in 1998.
Barnegat Volunteer Fire Company members respond to situations such as fires, auto accidents, and rescue calls. Regular operations include preparedness exercises and training equipment inspections. This date is used by fire departments to honor response efforts, public support, and readiness. The collaboration needed in emergency services is also reflected in the observation. May 4th honors community safety and service across all departments.
