New London, NH - The New London Fire Department combined community support with valuable hands-on training while assisting the Department of Public Works at the transfer station with a long-overdue gutter clean-out.

Using Ladder 3 and Engine 1, crews completed the task while simultaneously reinforcing key operational skills.

The evolution incorporated elevated water stream operations, water supply management, and hydrant fill procedures—turning a routine assignment into a multi-faceted training opportunity.

This approach highlights the department’s commitment to maintaining readiness by integrating practical skill-building into everyday operations, ensuring crews remain prepared for a wide range of emergency scenarios.
