Chichester, NH - Members of Chichester Fire-Rescue took part in an intensive hands-on training focused on complex machinery rescue situations, designed to simulate the types of high-risk, low-frequency emergencies crews may encounter in the field.

The training featured multiple skill stations, challenging firefighters to sharpen their abilities in scene size-up, hazard recognition, and critical decision-making under pressure.

Crews also practiced patient care in confined and hazardous environments, along with essential safety procedures such as Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) for controlling energy sources.

Additional scenarios included ring removal during medical emergencies, bucket swing extrications, head entrapment between railings, machinery-related incidents such as meat grinder entrapment, and fence impalement situations.

Each evolution emphasized not only technical skill, but also the importance of slowing down, managing hazards, and prioritizing patient safety throughout the operation.
