This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

HOPEDALE, MA — April 27th — The Hopedale Fire Department, located at 40 Dutcher Street, announced that call fireman candidates Joe LeClaire and Corey Roe were sworn in, increasing the department's response staffing. Along with career and volunteer firefighters, call firefighters assist operations by responding to events and participating in regular training. As part of their onboarding, new applicants usually finish training in hose operations, fireground safety, and basic emergency medical treatment.

The National Fire Protection Association's standards, which specify the qualifications and training requirements for firemen, serve as the foundation for programs such as this one. New hires enhance dependable response to emergency calls and day-to-day operations by helping to sustain staffing levels and guaranteeing ongoing coverage for the community.
