At a ceremony on April 29, the Avon Fire Department honored members for years of service and welcomed six new call firefighters.

Family members, locals, and town officials attended the swearing-in and badge-pinning ceremony, which was held at the department's Justin T. Powers Training Room. Both the new recruits and the long-standing efforts of seasoned firemen who have served the community for many years were acknowledged at the occasion.
