Manchester, NH - Recruits with the City of Manchester Fire Department recently dedicated the day to intensive search training, focusing on the critical skills required to operate in zero-visibility environments.
Through hands-on evolutions, participants learned how to stay oriented, communicate effectively, and function as a coordinated team while locating and removing victims.
Operating in dark, smoke-filled conditions demands discipline and trust, and this training emphasized both.
Recruits were challenged to rely on their techniques, maintain situational awareness, and support one another throughout each scenario.
While much of this work happens out of the public eye, it plays a vital role in preparing firefighters for real-world emergencies.
The department commends the recruits for their commitment, focus, and the professionalism they continue to demonstrate on the training ground.
