Live Fire Training Strengthens Skills Through Regional Collaboration
Merrimack, NH - Merrimack Fire Rescue members recently completed the final phase of two live fire training drills conducted in acquired structures generously donated by Getinge.
Firefighters worked alongside crews from Bedford, Amherst, and Milford, completing a total of eight hands-on training evolutions before the buildings were safely brought down through controlled burning.
These realistic training scenarios provided valuable experience in critical firefighting operations, including hose handling, ventilation, and search techniques—skills essential for effective emergency response.
The department extends its sincere appreciation to Getinge for the donation of the structures, to the owner of Sal’s Pizza in Merrimack for providing meals over both training days, and to all mutual aid partners whose support made the training a success.
