Windham, NH — April 26th — Probationary firemen Alex Brissette and John Mahoney received ground and aerial ladder training from the Windham Fire Department and Emergency Management, located at 3 Fellows Road, thanks to the pleasant weather. The positioning of ladders, climbing techniques, and the safe use of aerial devices were all reviewed by duty personnel. Along with fundamental rescue positions, crews also rehearsed cooperation between ground teams and those working at elevation.
On the fireground, ladder operations are essential for victim removal, roof access, and ventilation. Members are more likely to work safely and effectively during incidents when they receive regular practical training. While senior members reiterated established procedures, probationary firemen received hands-on training under observation. The training helped maintain operational readiness and was finished without any problems.
