Search and Rescue Training Held in Seabrook

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

Seabrook, NH — April 7th — Under the direction of Firefighter Wittman, the Seabrook NH Fire Department trained new recruits in search and rescue. The usage of a hose line for mobility and direction during interior operations was the main topic of the seminar. In order to replicate the lack of visibility that frequently occurs during building fires, recruits were blinded. These kinds of training evolutions are typical throughout departments and aid in the development of self-assurance, coordination, and situational awareness.

Maintaining contact with a hose line is a crucial ability for finding exits and operating safely inside a structure, according to fire experts. Additionally, the exercise focused on search strategies and team communication. In order to ensure safe, efficient emergency response and prepare recruits for real-world situations, the department maintains frequent training.
