Warren Holds Annual “Back to Basics” Drill

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

WARREN, RI — April 26th — The Warren Fire Department brought all companies together for a day of training as part of their yearly "back to the basics" department drill.

Each business concentrated on core competencies, such as water supply operations, thermal imaging, SCBA use, hose and nozzle operations, fire alarm systems and control panels, and RIT equipment. While the Rescue Company examined equipment used in mass casualty incidents, Tower 1 worked on cutting tools and forcible entry.

Department-wide exercises guarantee uniformity across businesses during incidents and reinforce core competencies. Maintaining preparedness for a variety of catastrophes still requires regular training.
