Hardwick, VT - Hardwick Fire Department, alongside the Morrisville Fire Department and additional mutual aid partners, carried out a planned controlled burn of a residential structure as part of a coordinated training exercise.

The operation required extensive preparation and was conducted under challenging conditions, with crews working diligently to prevent the fire from spreading into nearby wildland areas.

During the latter part of the day, Hardwick units were redirected to assist with a brush fire several miles away. Crews responded with apparatus and a side-by-side vehicle, helping bring the incident under control.

Officials thanked all participating departments for their teamwork and emphasized the importance of safety, reminding residents not to conduct outdoor burning without first contacting their local fire warden.
