Boston, MA — April 16th — Rodney Marshall was named Fire Commissioner #45 by the Boston Fire Department, located at 115 Southampton Street. Marshall has been with the agency for a long time and has held a variety of operational and administrative positions, including Deputy Chief. His appointment is the first time in the department's history that a Black firefighter has been appointed commissioner.

His leadership, training, and experience in fireground operations were highlighted by department authorities as important elements.
