Binghamton, NY - Members of the Binghamton Fire Department utilized two acquired structures slated for demolition on Sturges Street and Moffatt Avenue to conduct hands-on, realistic training exercises.

Crews practiced a range of critical operations, including VEIS (Vent, Enter, Isolate, Search), ground ladder deployment, vertical ventilation on a steep roof pitch, and wall breaching techniques. The training provided a rare opportunity to operate in conditions closely resembling actual fireground scenarios.

Department leadership was credited for ensuring continued training opportunities that keep members engaged and prepared. Officials emphasized that exercises like these play a vital role in maintaining readiness and strengthening the department’s ability to protect the community.
