Lisbon Firefighters Push Through Rain to Advance Skills and Earn New Certifications

LISBON, ME — Members of the fire department took advantage of a rainy morning to sharpen their skills through a series of hands on training evolutions designed to strengthen operational readiness.


Crews rotated through multiple stations, gaining experience with hose line advancements using a one and three quarter inch handline, operating a two and a half inch hose line, aerial apparatus operations, and pumper work that included flowing compressed air foam systems and utilizing both hydrant and tank water supplies.


The training also marked an important milestone for several members, with two firefighters earning certification as aerial operators and three others completing their sign offs as pumper operators.


Participation included a mix of full time, call company, and probationary firefighters, along with fire academy students gaining valuable additional training experience.
