Hands-On Extrication Training Strengthens Multi-Agency Response in Foster
Foster, RI — Members of the Foster Center Volunteer Fire Company joined crews from Moosup Valley, South Foster, and Foster EMS for a town wide training focused on vehicle extrication techniques.
The hands-on session provided a controlled environment for responders of all experience levels to sharpen critical, life-saving skills used during motor vehicle accidents. Veteran firefighters reviewed and refined their techniques while also practicing newer methods to improve efficiency and safety on scene.
Newer members gained valuable experience working directly with specialized extrication equipment, including hydraulic rescue tools commonly known as the “Jaws of Life,” learning how to safely access and remove victims from damaged vehicles.
Training like this ensures seamless coordination between agencies and enhances the overall emergency response capability across the community.
