West Hempstead, NY — April 15th — After completing their probationary training and obtaining their black shields, Firefighters Vazgen Grigoryan and Jayden Lee-Mitchell were acknowledged by the Lakeview Fire Department, located at 891 Woodfield Road. With this title, they become a full member of the department. As part of the department's custom, both firemen ascended Ladder 411 to obtain their customized shields.

They were trained in search methods, hose operations, ladder work, and emergency response safety protocols. Probationary training is crucial for preparing members for operational responsibilities, according to department officers. Both firemen will continue to assist response operations and training initiatives around the district after reaching this milestone.
